I've been going under the sea to collect things (which I then freeze-dry and grind into a powder).

Well, good luck with it, it sounds like a pretty decent job.artificialhabitathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16330841622691838367noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542645745020472639.post-43210600317783222262008-08-15T20:19:00.000-07:002008-08-15T20:19:00.000-07:00Andrew - My new job is great! Next week I'll be out traipsing around in streams doing transect selections for instream flow studies, and in a couple of weeks I hopefully will be out on an electroshocking boat doing "emergency fish rescue" due to an unplanned (read unpermitted) reservoir drawdown. Should (unfortunately) be a fairly high profile event if it happens...

The rest of the job involves many many meetings and a lot of sitting at a computer - which I will be doing from home a lot! Some of the meetings are mitigated by the fact that they will be held in various towns in the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Barry - but I DO have big tomatoes! :-)

I like the fresh tomatoes with basil on sourdough toast or crackers (preferably un-blessed ones) with olive oil, pitted kalamata olives, mozzarella or feta cheese, drizzled in a touch of balsamic vinegar and put under the broiler until the cheese is melted. It takes a brave person to tell a woman that she has "some big tomatoes" publicly.....

Anyway, yeah, there's nothing better than a home-grown tomato and some fresh basil. Add a nice zinfandel and it'd almost be enough to make one think that there is a God, if one didn't know better.Barry Leibahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14205294935881991457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1542645745020472639.post-22575568757913056462008-08-14T02:57:00.000-07:002008-08-14T02:57:00.000-07:00Yep, those are some big tomatoes....I don't have a...Yep, those are some big tomatoes....

I don't have a new job as an excuse for not posting on my blog, I just keep not getting around to it...........

Is your new job any good?artificialhabitathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16330841622691838367noreply@blogger.com
